Dec. 3 -7

Monday:  No spelling packet this week - it is a review week; Outdoor School books have arrived and will be sent home with the students today.

Wednesday:  5th and 6th math test

Friday:  Spelling tests; Sci-Fri: Diego

*The play is quickly approaching!  Students will need all costumes and character props at school by Thursday.  We will begin practicing with them then. Thanks!

Monday:  Spelling packets sent home

Tuesday:  5th and 6th grade math classes have a test

Thursday:  Book reports are due first thing in the morning - please, don't forget the rubric!

November 13 - 16

Tuesday:  Spelling packets sent home

Wednesday:  History quiz (open notes); pies will be at the school for pickup at 3 p.m.; report cards       sent home

Thursday:  History test over Ch. 3 (open note)

Friday:  Spelling packets due; spelling tests; Sci-Fri: Katie

*Book report rubrics were sent out last Friday.  I will be getting the materials for the final project  to the students this week.  This will be due Thursday, Nov. 29.

**We will be taking the Operation Christmas Child shoe box to a drop-off point this weekend.  So, if you want to include some items for a 10-14 year old boy please send it in by Friday.

***I would also like to remind you of the need for hand wipes for the snack bags that we will be packing next Tuesday.  The small personal wipes would work well for what we are doing.  However, any size will work.  Thank you for joining in on this service project.

****There will be a Southeast states test on Wed., Nov. 21.

*Thank you to everyone who sold pies!  They will be delivered to the school on Nov. 14; pick-up will be right after school.

**Because we have several holidays this month, the book report forms will be sent home by the end of the week.

***Please send in the items for the Operation Christmas Child shoe box by Nov. 16.  I will take them to the drop off on Nov. 18, Sunday.  Thanks for your help in sharing with a child less fortunate.

October 29 - November 2

Monday:  Spelling packets sent home; pie orders due today

Tuesday:  Ch. 2 history test (open notes); Midwest States Test - no open notes on this one!

Wednesday:  Math test; Halloween Party at 2:30 (Students may bring costumes to school; at 2:15 they may change into them)

Thursday:  Science test (open notes)

Friday:  Spelling packets due; spelling tests; "Ella Enchanted" musical field trip; students will need to bring a sack lunch - we won't be back to school in time for lunch; Sci-Fri:  Austin.

*If your student still has pie orders out, please contact Tori Wolf.

** If you would like to order the Outdoor School book that our class is writing, please have your form filled out, signed, and money in the envelop back to me by Friday, Nov. 2.  If you choose not to order the book, I still need the form signed with the NO box check and back to me by Friday.  Thanks.

***Again this year our class will be filling a shoe box to send to a needy child.  We do this through an organization called, Samaritan's Purse.  This organization is led by Franklin Graham, son of the late Billy Graham.  The list of items that are great and ones to avoid are as follows:

A “WOW” toy:  a doll, soccer ball with pump, or stuffed animal
Other gifts: fun toys, hygiene items, and school supplies

Candy; toothpaste; gum; used or damaged items; war-related items; seeds; food; liquids or lotions; medications or vitamin; breakable items or glass containers; aerosol cans

Friday:  Spelling packets due; spelling tests, includes the first 10 definitions; school dismissed at 11

*Reminder:  Pie orders are due Oct. 29.
**Book reports are due Oct. 30.
***A big "THANK YOU" goes to Mrs. Leitch.  She was able to get an exception in the minimum number of tickets so that our class may attend the musical, "Ella Enchanted".  Permission slips were sent home last week.  We will be attending the production on Nov. 2.

Tuesday:  NO spelling packets this week - it is a review week;  Book report requirements sent home; Blessing of the Animals

Friday:  Spelling tests (definitions over the first 10);  state test over the West and Southwest regions (includes the state abbreviations)

*Pie orders and money are due by Oct. 29.  Please remind your student to make those calls.

**Book reports are due Oct. 30.

***Students are working hard on the writing of the Outdoor School book.  If you would like to order a copy of this book, please send the order form and money in by Nov. 2.  If you choose not to order, please send the form back with the No box checked and your signature.  Thank you.
